Splendid specimen featuring massive, opaque crystals of Calcite surrounding a solid core of translucent, white Selenite variety of Gypsum.  Naica Mine, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Roughly triangular in plan, it is 14" on each side and 10" high.

Dactylioceras Commune Ammonites.  Jurassic period.  The stand was made by Rock Art; blackened iron, which grips the specimen at two points.  Specimen has numerous ammonites in matrix with an overall.  Overall it has a pale red cast. Schliefhausen, Germany.

Madiganites mawsoni.  Middle Cambrian (520 million years old).  Stromatolites are thought to be responsible for the initial burst of oxygen responsible for the evolution of all animal life on the planet.

Plaster cast with bronze colored patina on a wood base.  A copy of the bust of a full figure of the god of the seas (Neptune in Latin myths).  The original was found off the coast of Sounion, in the remains of a shipwreck of the classic period.  National Museum, Athens, Greece.

Rare to find an original; prints are sold commonly. Watercolor of orange flowers in a gold-finished, wood frame.  Artist was quite well known in the mid-70s in NY and the Caribbean.    Ms. Wilkin sold it to its present owner.  Nevis, Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
